Job Description:

Quality Auditor - Accounts Receivable

The Accounts Receivable Quality Assurance Analyst works in a collaborative effort with the

Operations team to resolve denials/rejections and claims that has no status.

A major focus of the position is to identify trends the Transactional and Process related errors and

share the feedback with the Operations Resource and train them if needed. Also, they should be

able to identify trends in denials/rejections and provide feedback to leadership so that proper

education and/or processes can be implemented and/or changed. Job duties include but are not

limited to:

Identify where errors are occurring. ie; Registration, Billing, Payment Posting or Follow-up.

Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal and/or State laws and regulations related to coding

and documentation guidelines.

Analyze reports, medical records and Explanation of benefits for appropriate documentation,

CPT/HCPCS and diagnosis coding.

Identify denial trends.

Review physicians notes and charts for accuracy and assist the accounts receivable team in

appeals.

Obtain any necessary clarification of information on the notes and charts to substantiate appeals.

Review that appropriate medical codes and diagnoses have been billed.

Review possible bundling issues.

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Assist the Accounts Receivable Department in the clinical wording of appeals.

Assist Accounts Receivable Leadership in special projects.

Skills:

Highly skilled in knowledge of medical collections practices and job expectations.

Knowledge of billing requirements, timely filing and appeals processes for all payors.

Strong knowledge of medical billing and collection practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel and other office tools).

Understanding/compliance of HIPAA laws and regulations.

Able to differentiate between primary and secondary insurance payers.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent customer service.

Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Must be well organized and detail-oriented.

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.

Must be able to work extended hours.

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of

instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Able to work in a team environment.
