Job Description:
Software Optimization Engineer
Power Software Product Engineering Team is actively seeking talented engineers in developing
software for Mobile and Embedded devices.
The Product engineering team is responsible for the execution of chipset level power optimizations.
In this role the candidate will perform system level software analysis, use case level power and
performance optimization of power and thermal use-cases, and solve broad system level problems.
The candidate is expected to collaborate with Architecture, HW design, Performance, Power &
Thermal Systems and various software teams to work towards optimal system level power and
thermal software solution.
In addition, the candidate will also participate in development of tools for power & thermal software
analysis and optimization of Power & Thermal algorithms.
Candidates will also own or participate in Multiple aspects of system level Power Optimizations to
meet the growing product requirements on processors across various subsystems on the SoC
Perform detailed analysis of the existing software to provide innovative recommendations to
improve power footprints and recommends OS side optimizations Involvement in pre-silicon
evaluations and sign-offs
Candidate Profile
ARM or any other processor architecture (core, cache, memory, bus architecture, IOs, etc.) and
common hardware blocks Familiarity with various hardware components in the SoC, such as GPU,
Codecs, Display Engines, etc.
Preference to candidates with experience in developing power and/or thermal management
software on embedded platforms Imaging and vision (including VR) algorithms on compute DSP,
Machine learning on data sets spanning across generations of product architectures Strong in
Operating systems concepts - scheduling, memory management and device drivers
Experience in using debug tools like JTAG debugger, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers Familiarity with
Windows operating systems would be prefered
