The Associate Category Manager is a core part of the product strategy team.
An ACM helps to locate significant areas of opportunity within the technology publishing
marketplace.
They are responsible for establishing Packt as a leading source of premium technical content within
specific areas of the IT marketplace and for fulfilling the companys goals.
An ACM sets the strategic path of the company, manage its investment in new tech areas, and
actively contribute towards the development of the companys broader product strategy.
With a solid understanding of online research, ACM performs strategic analysis, gathers IT market
intelligence, discusses it with the team, and develops product strategies.
If you enjoy being a subject matter expert with analytical bent of mind, then the ACM job is your
thing.
Skills
Develop deep understanding of core IT technologies and trends.
Monitor learning needs of software professionals, and create product strategies around these
needs.
Disseminate tech market insight across the business to improve quality and time-to-market of
products.
Deliver clear product specification and vision to other teams for product implementation.
Proactively engage with the development of new product types with compelling market positioning.
Provide support to other stakeholders (including marketing) across the organization by offering
market intelligence at individual product level.
Regular evaluation and reporting of product performance to higher authorities and entire
organization.
