Job Description:
Application Developer
Candidate should possess Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
Master's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or Information Technology a plus.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience using BI tools (Cognos, Tableau or BO, SAS BI)
3 - 5 years experience in mid to large scale Data warehouse
Knowledge of various data modeling concepts and methodologies
Demonstrated ability to translate function/high level design in detailed technical design
Understands basic relational database concepts - rows, columns, primary key etc
Understands what is the SDLC lifecycle and the significance of each of the phases of Waterfall model
Knows about the processes to be followed in the project, Follows the defined processes in the projects
Is able to identify opportunities for improving the process
Experience with scheduling jobs on CRON and using a scheduling tool like Control-M
Experience with CVS, SUBVERSION similar source code versioning tools
Solid design, coding, testing and debugging skills
